why we’re campaigning to make sleep a human right

At eve, we’re big advocates of the power of sleep. When you sleep well, night after night, you feel better mentally and physically. There’s countless research to prove it. And it’s our passion for sleep wellness that shapes everything we do. From our products to our customer service, everything is carefully considered to help you feel at your very best when you wake up.

But there’s a problem. For some, it takes more than a comfortable bedroom to sleep well at night. Sometimes, a busy and noisy flight path keeps people up. Sometimes, shift work can disrupt the body clock and, as a result, put workers more at risk of heart disease. Sometimes, teachers and pupils are too stressed and burnout to get the much-needed rest they need to cope.

For some, it takes more than a comfortable bedroom to sleep well at night.

As a business, our mission is to help everybody get the best possible start, but we can only go so far if we ignore that there’s sometimes more at play. So when we discovered that something as important as sleep isn’t protected as a fundamental human right – even though society depends on it – we knew this was where we had to act.

It’s a pretty bold move for a sleep wellness brand to challenge the government, but we’re a pretty bold business. One that’s ready to lead the charge and try to make a difference beyond our products. It’s time to wake up to the injustice of poor sleep and work together to give vulnerable groups the #RightToSleep, so I urge businesses, experts, community groups and charities to join us on our quest.
