what is the difference between a duvet and a duvet cover?

A duvet is the soft, squishy bit that you put inside a washable, changeable duvet cover.

But what are duvets made of, exactly?

All eve duvets are cased in 100% cotton, but the stuffing inside is different across our range.

Our snug duvets and warm:cool duvets are filled with 100% Aerelle® Softflex hollowfibre. This basically means they’re floofy and gorgeously warm but still allow air to circulate, so you can say bye bye to sticky, clammy nights.

The light eco duvet is made of 100% Dacron® Comforel® ECO recycled hollowfibre. This nifty material not only keeps you cool in the warmer months, but keeps the planet cool too - it’s made of a whopping 30 recycled plastic bottles.

The fluffable feather duvet is made of 70% feathers and 30% down. This keeps things all plump and cosy, and the feathers trap air to keep you toasty all night.

how do I choose a duvet?

The first thing to think about when choosing the best duvet for you is the size. At eve, our duvets come in the UK standard single, double, king and super king sizes.

You might also want to choose your duvet depending on what materials it’s made of. If you have allergies, the snug duvet and the warm:cool duvet would be great for you. If you’re an eco warrior, the light eco duvet is the perfect match. And if you’re all about that plump, get yourself the fluffable feather duvet.

And last but certainly not least, how warm do you want your duvet to be? If you’re looking for something light and cool, pick a duvet with a lower tog rating. If you want something to keep you as snug as a bug in a rug, pick a duvet with a higher tog rating.

what duvet tog should I get?

To get a great night’s sleep, you should aim to keep your body at just the right temperature. Not too hot, not too cold, but juuuust right. To do this, you’ll need to choose a duvet tog that’s right for you. But what is a duvet tog?

Togs are the rating system used for how warm a duvet is. For example, a 1 tog duvet is the lightest you can get, and a 15 tog duvet is really, really (really) warm.

At eve, our coolest duvet is the light eco duvet at 4.5 tog. This is great for the warmer months, or if you often wake up feeling a bit hot and bothered.

Next we have the warm:cool duvet. This one is a bit special - it’s 4.5 tog on one side and 10.5 tog on the other. This is perfect if you have a snoozing partner who ends up shivering while you’re sweating buckets in the middle of the night, or vice versa. It’s also great if you want a summer and winter duvet rolled into one.

Our super squishable fluffable feather duvet is 10.5 tog. This is a great duvet tog to use all year round.

And finally, the cosiest one of all. The snug duvet. This one is 13.5 tog. Perfect for the colder months, or if you’re always chilly, no matter what the weather’s like.
