Each year, one in four of us will experience some kind of mental health problem, and one in five will take a day off work due to stress. During mental health awareness week in May 2018, we donated to Mental Health UK for every mattress we sold.
Aside from being an inspiring bunch of people, Mental Health UK works across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to improve the lives of people with mental illness, and to support their carers, family members, and colleagues.
Together their founding charities (Rethink Mental Illness, Support In Mind Scotland, Hafal, and MindWise) run 400 services and 200 volunteer support groups in communities around the UK. Hats off to that.
We understand that a great night’s sleep and a healthy mind are inextricably linked. But what actually happens when the lights go out? We took to the streets of London (with a bed in tow, naturally...) to find out how much impact stress has on a silent night. Take a look at the video to find out what Londoners think about sleep and mental wellbeing.
We polled 2,000 people in the UK to find out what they get up to after dark. A staggering 79% of you struggle to switch off at bedtime, whilst 60% often wake in the middle of the night with thoughts of work and other worries. Read on to see the full results...
One of the most important things we can all do to help remove the stigma around mental health, as well as keep ourselves healthy and happy, is to talk about it.
