These must-read titles need to be on everyone's bedtime reading list!
the well read club: *books to add to your bedtime reading list*

We’re all guilty of spending too much time in front of a screen and what better way to wind down that a good ol’ book right before bed?

If you’re looking to improve your bedtime routine, reading is an easy way to reduce stress, help you relax and improve sleep quality whilst also being super enjoyable. What’s not to love! If you want to know more about the benefits of reading before bed, take a look at our blog.

If you’re on the hunt for your next read, we’ve got everything you need right here. Whether you prefer to keep it traditional with a physical book or prefer settling into a snooze with an audiobook, we’ve rounded up the top 5 reads we just can’t put down here at eve HQ. Thank us later.

1. The Botanist by M.W Craven

Are thrillers your genre of choice? Then this one’s for you. The Botanist follows Detective Sergeant Washington Poe and his team who have some questionable ways of getting the job done. A poisoner called the Botanist is sending the nation's most reviled people poems and pressed flowers. Will they catch them? We dunno, but we're keen to find out on our quest to read before bed a little more often!

2. You Are Here by David Nicholls

If you got hooked on the latest Netflix series, One Day, we think you might want to add a reminder for when this one hits the shelves. The book promises a brand new love story all about second chances and we’re sure we’ll be shedding some tears! FYI it's out in hardback on April 24th. But paperback lovers will have to wait a little longer to pick up a copy in their preferred format. Sorry about that guys...take it up with the publishers!

3. Obsessed by James Patterson

Yet another thriller, oops! Is there anything better than diving into the sheets and a murder mystery – we think not. Based in New York City, Detective Michael Bennett must discover who's murdering glamorous young women before his eldest daughter, who fits the profile, is targeted. Perhaps this edge-of-the-seat thriller will tick all those boxes when it comes to bedtime reading essentials!

4. November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Tissues at the ready, if you haven’t already read a Colleen Hoover novel – we promise they’re worth the tears! Before she plans to move away, Fallon meets Ben. As time passes, they meet up on the same date every year but will love blossom or is it too good to be true?

5. Atomic Habits by James Clear

If you’re really looking to change your habits, whether big or small, this book might be for you. Rather than reading fictional stories, how about spending your time before bed learning simple life hacks that could help you make sure your life goes in the direction you want it to.

reading before bed: our conclusion

When it comes to getting a rejuvenating snooze, reading before bed could help you get the ideal amount of screen-free time to allow your mind and body to wind down after a hard day. But, what else could help you catch those precious ZZZs is a great quality mattress and a sublimely plum pillow. Pair this with a page-turner and we're sure you'll be on to that winning combo.
